This privacy policy applies to the Strike Analyzer app (referred to as "Application") for mobile devices, created by ProDirt LLC (referred to as "Service Provider"). This service is provided "AS IS".
The short version: all lightning detection — camera flash analysis and thunder listening — happens entirely on your device. The Application has no account system, no analytics backend, and no servers of its own; your camera frames, microphone audio, photos, recordings, and strike history are never transmitted to the Service Provider. The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob, which collects limited advertising data as described below; the one-time Pro purchase removes ads.
In Auto mode, the Application uses the camera to watch for lightning flashes and the microphone to listen for thunder. Camera frames and microphone audio are analyzed in real time on your device and immediately discarded — they are not recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere, with two exceptions you control:
Both are stored only on your device, are fully under your control, and can be deleted at any time with your gallery app. Manual mode uses neither the camera nor the microphone.
Location permission is optional and used for one thing: tagging your bolt photos and strike log entries with the GPS position where the measurement was taken. Location data stays on your device. The Application works fully without location permission.
Your measurement history (distance, time, flash-to-bang interval, and optional GPS position) is stored locally on your device. It is never uploaded. Sharing the log as CSV is available and happens only when you initiate it, using the share destination you choose.
The free version of the Application displays banner ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect device information such as your advertising ID, IP address, and coarse device data, as described in Google's advertising policy and Google's privacy policy. The Service Provider does not receive or store this data. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Google settings. Purchasing the one-time Pro upgrade removes all ads from the Application.
The Application offers a single one-time "Pro" purchase that removes ads and unlocks the full strike history. All payment processing is handled exclusively by the Google Play Billing system. The Service Provider does not collect, process, or store any personal financial information such as credit card numbers or billing addresses.
The Application uses third-party services that have their own privacy policies governing how they handle data:
You can stop all collection of information by the Application by uninstalling it using the standard uninstall process available on your mobile device or through the app marketplace. Photos, recordings, and logs you saved remain in your gallery until you delete them.
The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact the Service Provider at prodirt.co@gmail.com so the necessary actions can be taken.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by updating this page. You are advised to review this policy periodically, as continued use of the Application constitutes acceptance of any changes.
By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy, now and as amended.
