This policy covers both versions of Kite Force, made by ProDirt LLC ("we", "us"):
The kites you save (names, shape, measurements, wind rating, notes, line strength, repair notes and any photo you attach) are used to calculate pull and line size. Where they're kept depends on how you use Kite Force:
If you create an account, Google Firebase Authentication stores your email address. With email sign-in, your password is stored by Firebase in hashed form, and we never see it. With "Continue with Google", Firebase receives the name, email address and profile picture link from your Google account. We use your email only to sign you in and to send account emails you ask for, such as a password reset. The Android app has no accounts.
Kite Force uses your location to fetch live wind, temperature and air pressure for where you are. Your coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to get the forecast. On Android, they're also sent to Windy to draw the wind map. The web app only asks for your location when you tap "My location". If you search for a place instead, the text you type is sent to Open-Meteo's place search. The last place you used is remembered on your device so the weather loads faster next time. We don't keep a location history, and your location is never sent to us.
You can attach a photo to a kite with your camera or photo library. The photo is stored with that kite, in the places described under "Your kites" above. Kite Force doesn't access any other photos.
When you add a photo, Kite Force may read the date it was taken from the photo itself, on your device, to fill in "Spotted" on a wishlist kite. It doesn't read the photo's location.
Identify with Google Lens is only used when you tap it. It sends that kite's photo to Google Lens (the Google app) or to an app you pick from your phone's share menu: the full-size photo if you've just taken or picked it, otherwise the smaller saved one. From then on, Google's privacy policy applies to it. Kite Force keeps a full-size copy only while the kite editor is open.
Neither the Android app nor the web app uses analytics, advertising IDs or tracking. (Android versions before 1.48 included Google Analytics for Firebase; it was removed in 1.48.)
The one-time Unlimited upgrade (unlimited kites and Google Drive backup) is sold through Google Play. Google handles all payment details. We never see your card number or billing address, only whether the upgrade has been purchased.
Sessions you record (conditions over time and any pull readings you enter) are stored on your phone. They only leave it if you choose to share or export them.

The web app's "Help fund a kite" button opens PayPal. Anything you do there is covered by PayPal's privacy policy, and we don't receive anything unless you choose to send a payment.
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with anyone except the services above. The only exception is when the law requires it, for example a valid court order.

Everything Kite Force sends travels over encrypted HTTPS connections. Passwords are handled and hashed by Firebase Authentication. The web app's database rules only allow each account to read and write its own kites. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care to protect what we hold.
Kite Force is for a general audience and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created a web account, email prodirt.co@gmail.com and we'll delete it.
