ProDirt LLC ("we", "us", or "our") built FieldQuote as a free Android application. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use FieldQuote. By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
All data you enter into FieldQuote — including your business name, contact information, cost profile settings, job details, client names, and task presets — is stored locally on your device using a secure on-device database. This information never leaves your device unless you choose to back it up to Google Drive.
Google Drive Backup (Optional)
If you choose to use the backup feature, FieldQuote creates a folder named
"FieldQuote Backups" in your Google Drive using the drive.file scope.
The folder is visible in your regular Drive on purpose, so you can open, download, or
delete the backups yourself and your data stays reachable even if you remove the app.
The drive.file scope restricts FieldQuote to files it created — it cannot
read anything else in your Drive. Backup files contain your jobs, quotes, cost profile,
warranty clauses, and task library. We do not have access to your Google Drive or your
backup files.
Google Calendar (Optional)
If you schedule a won job, FieldQuote creates an all-day event on your primary Google
Calendar using the calendar.events scope. When the job has a client email
saved, that client is added to the event and Google sends them the invitation.
Unscheduling the job removes the event. We never see your calendar.
Documents You Attach
Insurance certificates and warranty PDFs you import are copied into FieldQuote's private storage on your device and embedded into the quote PDFs you generate and share. The app never uploads them anywhere. Google Drive backups carry your typed records, not your imported files.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used solely to provide FieldQuote's features:
- Calculating job costs and suggested prices based on your cost profile
- Generating professional quote PDF documents
- Storing your job history and client information locally on your device
- Backing up and restoring your data to/from your personal Google Drive
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
3. Data Storage and Security
All app data is stored locally on your Android device using Android's Room database. Data is stored in the app's private storage area, which is not accessible to other apps. If you enable Google Drive backup, your backup files are stored in a "FieldQuote Backups" folder in your own Drive using Google's secure infrastructure. We do not operate any servers and have no access to your data.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. The only external services involved are:
- Google Drive API — used only for optional backup at your request, governed by Google's Privacy Policy
- Google Calendar API — used only when you schedule a job, governed by Google's Privacy Policy
- OpenRouteService — when you use address autocomplete or drive-distance calculation, the address text you type is sent to OpenRouteService to return results, governed by their privacy policy at openrouteservice.org
- Google Play Billing — used for the optional one-time FieldQuote Pro unlock. Payment is handled entirely by Google; we never see your payment details.
- Android Share Sheet — when you choose to share a PDF quote, your device's native sharing system is used. We do not control where you send that PDF.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You have full control over your data:
- Delete any job, quote, or task preset at any time from within the app
- Uninstall the app at any time, which removes all locally stored data
- Sign out of Google Drive at any time from the Settings screen to disconnect backup access
- Delete your backup file from Google Drive via Google Drive Settings > Manage Apps
6. Children's Privacy
FieldQuote is intended for use by adult contractors and business owners. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us so we can address it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the app and reflected in the updated effective date above. Continued use of FieldQuote after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
